When you start the Lung Cung trekking route, you will experience all kinds of terrain of the mountains and forests with beautiful scenery. It is a dense primeval forest with large mossy rocks. It is a valley full of cogon grass with mountains on all sides and villages and terraced fields in the distance. It is a young bamboo forest intertwined with each other so that you cannot see the sky. And the old and large apple trees seem to be waiting for the season to bloom.
Lung Cung Peak is overwhelming with a panoramic view, airy and very easy to see the sea of clouds. On the top of the mountain, there are large hills as big as a large football field with grass always blowing in the wind. All promise to bring you a unique and unforgettable experience
Geography Location
Located in Nam Co commune, Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province, Lung Cung mountain peak has an altitude of 2913 m, which is a beautiful trekking route. On beautiful days, standing here you can have a panoramic view of Che Cu Nha commune, Khau Pha and surrounding areas. This is a mountainous area with diverse terrain (grassy hills, dense forests, bamboo forests) with many beautiful views.
Best time to trek to Lung Cung
January – February – March: Spring colors
Like other Northwestern regions, in spring, apricot blossoms and peach blossoms bloom all over the mountains and forests, which is a characteristic landscape of the Northwestern mountains and forests. There may be no sun under the mountain, but on the top, above the thick fog is a clear sky, warm and bright sunshine. Don’t forget the months of March and early April to go hunting for the most beautiful clouds.
September – October: Rice season and ripe Taomeo
The journey through Mu Cang Chai will amaze you with the most beautiful terraced fields in Vietnam. You also cannot miss Lung Cung village, famous for over 3000 ancient Taomeo trees that will ripen fragrantly throughout the mountains and forests.
November – December: Flower season on the mountain
On the way to conquer Lung Cung Peak, you will go through Ta Co Y Valley, where there are beautiful purple flower fields, and the slopes of the mountain are filled with Da Quy flowers blooming brightly. The road to Lung Cung peak becomes very poetic.
Avoid the period from May to August because that is the rainy season, the roads are very muddy, landslides are likely to occur, and the forest rain makes the trails disappear. a lot, easy to get lost for inexperienced tourists.
How to go to Lung Cung
You can take a Limousine bus from Hanoi to Mu Cang Chai. The journey takes about 7 hours. When you arrive in Mu Cang Chai, you can rent a motorbike or taxi to get to Tu Le. From Tu Le you can come to Lung Cung trekking point.
Trekking route to Lung Cung
Day 0: Hà Nội – Mu Cang Chai – Tú Lệ
6:30 PM: From Hanoi to Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai by BUS
1:30 AM: Arrive in Mu Cang Chai, you will stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 1: Tú Lệ – Shelter
6:00 AM: Wake up, pack your personal belongings, and enjoy breakfast.
7:00 AM: Take a car to the Suoi Tien homestay in Tu Le commune. Then take a motorbike taxi 15km to the trekking point.
8:00 AM: Arrive at the trekking point, and leave your belongings with the porter (porter).
11:30 AM: The group rests and has lunch. Then continue the journey.
4:30 PM: Arrive at the shelter, rest after the first day’s journey.
6:00 PM: Enjoy dinner, then spend the night in a windproof wooden shelter with blankets and a heat-insulating mat.
Day 2: Shelter – Peak – Hanoi
4:30 AM: Wake up, enjoy breakfast, and sip a cup of coffee or ginger tea.
5:00 AM: The group warms up and begins the final leg to reach the summit.
7:00 AM: Reach the top of Lung Cung, rest, take pictures, and enjoy the scenery on the top of the mountain.
10:00 AM: Lunch at the shelter, pack personal belongings, and head down the mountain.
1:30 PM: Take a motorbike taxi back to the starting point (15km), then take a car back to the hotel.
4:00 PM: Take a shower, then have dinner at the restaurant
6:00 PM: Get on the bus to Hanoi
11:00 PM: Arrive at Hanoi
